What are the parts of the screen I see when I start a Journey?
This article is a basic review of what you will see in the Guide Bar at the bottom of your screen on all Interactive Meditation Journeys. It will help you understand what the numbers mean, how to 'breathe to get high resonance' and move the gameplay events forward.
For more information on Journeys, please read this article: What is a Journey? Which One Do You Recommend Starting with?
But first - read this page to get begin.
The Basic Process:
- Follow the breathing indicator to increase your Resonance score. (link)
- Keep your focus on the meditations and principles discussed by each expert in their section of the Journey.
- Allow yourself to enjoy the process, without self-judgment. When your mind wanders, or your breath becomes less rhythmic, allow yourself time to come back to the present focus and get back into the rhythm of the onscreen breath pacer.
The Guide Bar:
The Guide Bar, found at the bottom of any Event screen, includes this important information to help guide you on your journey.
1. BPM (Beats Per Minute)
Indicates your average number of heartbeats per minute.
2. Resonance Score
Your goal is to keep your Resonance score as high as you can. The closer your breathing rate follows the breathing indicator, the higher your Resonance score will be, enabling you to complete each event.
3. The Breathing Indicator
Match your breathing as best you can to the rhythm of the Breathing Indicator. Breathe in as it expands, breathe out as it contracts. Breathing in time to this visual breathing cue will help your heart rate fall into a resonant frequency referred to as Resonance. If you find the breathing rate too fast or slow, it can be adjusted in the Settings Menu.
4. Time Remaining
Indicates the time remaining for the current event. Note, some events are not timed and therefore do not display the time remaining.
5. Pause
This allows you to pause the current event. You can also access the Settings menu once you pause the event.
Tip:
By clicking anywhere on the guide bar you can hide all values. Clicking the guide bar again will re-enable them!
